おはようございます、皆さん。It’s a brand new day!!! We woke up slightly
late today.
We started our
day with first visitng Gyeongbokgung. We didn’t manage to watch the “Changing
of guards ceremony” the last trip so we purposely make an effort to catch it
this time. However, before we start, it’s breakfast time.
Brunch @ Paris
Baguette
“A very
expensive brunch” was all I can remember. I think there are many other brunch
serving restaurants but I decided to try PB as I have heard so much about it.
Bad choice.

Right on time for the “Changing of guards
ceremony”. It’s actually quite funny because we were lead in and out of the
gate by the usher. The whole ceremony took approximately 5 to 8 minutes and
took place just before the entrance. In other words, if you want to watch the
ceremony but not visit the palace, it’s possible.

Next is buying the entrance ticket to
Gyeongbokgung.
Gyeongbokgung, also known
as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace
located in northern Seoul, South Korea. First constructed in 1394 and
reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five
Grand Palaces built by the Joseon
Dynasty.
The name of the palace, Gyeongbokgung, translates
in English as "Palace of Shining Happiness."

Within Gyeongbokgung, there is the
National Folk Museum of Korea and also a small area that has been transformed
into the 70's of Korea. I forgot what is this area called but it was interesting.

After spending a few hours in
Gyeongbokgung, we left the palace and walked to Samcheongdong .
삼청동Samcheong-dong (三淸洞)
Pris wanted to explore the café alley of Samcheong-dong after watching some
Travelodge. We went to the Tourist Information Center for guide.

Since we only had brunch and I start to feel tired again. We settled down in a café called Homestead Coffee.
Tea time @ Homestead Coffee
We fell in love with the café immediately. It is designed so lovely that one can simply spend a whole afternoon just sipping coffee and admiring the view.

WHAT?!?! It’s already 4pm!!! We need to get out of Samcheong-dong and have
our dinner before watching our 1st performance – JUMP!!
As JUMP Theatre is near Insadong, we will have early dinner around the
area. Since I have been really craving for Bossam, we went back to 친절한현자씨 Chinjeolhanhyeonjassi.

I am back again. |

It is still as delicious.
Now comes our challenge, we need to find JUMP Theatre. It was drawn very
roughly on the brochure we have and we really had a hard time locating it. We
tried asking for directions but it seems not many people knew. Adding oil to
fire, the performance is starting in 15mins and I am limping due to a blister
on my foot. This is what I call “ILL LUCK”.
Finally, we managed to find Seoul Theatre with the help of many kind souls.
It was really quite ulu. The performance better be nice or all these efforts
will be useless.

Cast of the day |
Conclusion – This is a MUST SEE
performance. We totally enjoyed every single moment of the show. It’s humorous
and full of excitement. You can never know what the cast is up to next.
There was also a photo-taking cum autograph session with the cast after the
show. We bought a poster @ KRW1,000 to show our ‘tiny’ support for the
production and photos taken with the cast. We, plus another couple, were like
the only 2 groups of audience who bought stuff for their autograph.

Frankly speaking,
I can no longer walk to the subway station for our train ride home so we “JUMP”
into a taxi and alight right at our apartment doorstep.
