Melbourne, Australia 2013 - Day 1

02nd August 2013

It was a smooth flight from Singapore to Melbourne except for some slight turbulence. Singapore Airlines is always our most preferred airline when it comes to travelling.

In Melbourne International Airport, a bit of time was wasted waiting for immigration clearance. However, getting the luggage was effortless and that goes the same with declaration of goods. Next up, buying the prepaid SIM card and finding Budget Car Rental for our long waited Nissan X-Trail (4WD). All our worries on car boot size were gone once we see the car physically. The car boot can easily fits 2 pieces of 29” luggage and 2 pieces of 26” luggage, and still there is room for some hand carry.

Once loaded, off we go to our 1st destination – Healesville Motor Inn. It’s already 8pm when we arrived. Shelley (the owner) was waiting for our arrival and she checked us in to our family room. Frankly speaking, it’s better than what we expected.

It was running late and as you know, everywhere in Australia, shops close at 4 or 5 in the afternoon. It is difficult to find a decent restaurant or eatery to have our dinner at such hour. In the end, we bought some instant noodles from Coles and take away pizza.

This is how we spend our first day in Melbourne, Australia.
